Update: Received another email from Veritas Vincit: ”I’ll share this secret with you: I’m *not* Carol. So any of her writing or thinking is certainly not mine.”
———————————————————————-
I sent a letter to everyone on this list, which is the Member Roster for the Arizona Legislature, http://www.azleg.gov/MemberRoster.asp?Body=H concerning Proposition 106, specifically, DO NOT repeal Proposition 106. I received a few responses, 2 in favor not to repeal and 1 who feels repealing it would be a great idea. I also received a response from someone using the alias Veritus Vincit.
I was surprised, and searched the internet to find out who Veritus Vincit was. I discovered it was someone with very strong republican views, supporter of Pearce, very anti – Lewis, well “anti” a lot of people, but you can read those views here: http://twitter.com/#!/VeritasVincit52
I didn’t respond to the email, then I received another one concerning Veritas Vincit’s views on Proposition 106. The 2nd one started with you didn’t live in Arizona when Proposition 106 was voted in. It also said “In fact you haven’t been here very long, what’s it been? Two or Three Years now?” I have lived at my current address for almost 2-1/2 years (although in Arizona over 20 years). I realized that I was also being investigated. I responded and included ”I’m an open book” and urged this person to tell me who they are.
I decided I needed to spend some real time investigating and it wasn’t long before I came upon internet blogs that stated that Carol Turoff is Veritas Vincit.
I sent another email out to the Member Roster concerning receiving the Veritas Vincit email and included her second email and my response. I expected the person who forwarded it originally to forward it again. I did ask who forwarded it, but didn’t expect a response.
To my surprise, I received another email today from Veritas Vincit, again about Proposition 106. I have to admit that I was perplexed on the first email, who is Veritus Vincit, is it one of our representatives who has an alias? The 2nd one made me a little nervous, I had no idea who this person was besides the blog that I listed above. This person was in possession of my name, address and email address.
Then I received a third email today. It gave me more information on her point of view, youtube videos to watch, statements that she believes in and I did realize that she truly does believe a conspiracy is going on…
“You can also find the book “Blueprint, How the Democrats Won Colorado” and you can pretty much see how Randy Parraz and the Pearce recall fit into the strategy and how the whole redistricting process is/was being gamed to achieve a specific outcome.
General Patton was once asked how he beat General Rommel and he replied, “… I read his book” Sometimes its that simple.”
and it ended with
“Hope your Holiday was Blessed, and pray for the families who died in Wednesday’s plane crash… unfortunately I knew some of them.”
I found myself responding that I knew who she was, stated where my opinions greatly differ from hers, not only on Proposition 106 but on a wide area of issues and “I wish you would feel comfortable enough to use your real name. From the other side of an alias it can feel quite intimidating. It doesn’t really matter if I or anyone else agrees with you, you have a right to believe as you believe.”
Then I realized that I only partially agree with what I wrote. I’ve been on the receiving end of some vicious posters who disagreed with my point of view, I highly believe in using an alias while posting. Just not when you have someone’s personal email address.
