You may want to sign this because:
- A DOJ expert concluded that Arpaio oversaw the worst pattern of racial profiling by a law enforcement agency in U.S. History.
- The attorney general was asked to release its findings and take “immediate action to quell the growing human rights crisis in Arizona,”
- A former assistant police chief in El Mirage declared that Sheriff Joe Arpaio failed the victims in over 400 cases including child molestations.
- Millions of dollars have been taken to pay victims of MCSO and Sheriff Joe.
- Allegations of his misuse of $100 million.
- Abuse of power against those perceived as his enemy.
With the release of DOJ’s investigation today the petition may not be needed but it will be good to have a count of the citizens of Arizona who would like to see a change. The petition was created by John Dougherty, a former Phoenix New Times reporter.
